Commissioner is a volunteer adult leader who serves as a mentor and link between Scouting units and the District Committee. They are not leaders within individual units but are District volunteers dedicated to helping units succeed by providing guidance and support.
Commissioners play a vital role by offering resources from the District, such as membership, program development, fundraising, camping opportunities, and event coordination, all drawn from the collective experience of District Committee volunteers.
A Commissioner’s purpose is to ensure that every member of the BSA enjoys a positive Scouting experience. To connect with your Commissioner, simply reach out to your District Commissioner to find out who is assigned to assist your unit.
